Galaxy S7 and S8 had single rear cameras. S9 introduced dual rear cameras on Plus models. S10 onward added the ultrawide. S20 Ultra introduced the 100x Space Zoom periscope. Every Galaxy S Ultra since carries the periscope plus regular telephoto plus main and ultrawide.
Galaxy Note 8 introduced Samsung’s first dual-camera. Note 10 and Note 20 added the ultrawide. Note 20 Ultra includes a periscope telephoto similar to the S Ultra line. We still repair every model.
Galaxy A14, A15, A35, A54, A55 use multi-camera setups (main + ultrawide + macro on most) but with smaller sensors and basic OIS or none. Repair cost is lower because parts cost less.

Samsung Care+ customers pay $99 per claim — that is the cheapest path if you have the coverage. For everyone else, we save money plus offer same-day walk-ins with single-module replacement.
Many customers describe “camera broken” when the small sapphire glass cover over the lens is cracked but the camera underneath still works. Cover replacement is much cheaper. Samsung cameras use unique technology that does not exist on iPhone or most other Android phones. Here is what matters most for the repair.
Galaxy S20 Ultra introduced this in 2020. The lens path folds horizontally inside the phone body using prisms — like a submarine periscope. This allows 100x digital zoom in a thin chassis. Apple has no equivalent. The periscope module is uniquely fragile — drops can knock the prism out of alignment without breaking the glass cover.
Samsung uses a 200-megapixel main sensor on Galaxy S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, and S25 Ultra. iPhone uses 48MP across their flagship line. Bigger sensor area, more pixel data, and a different replacement part. We stock the 200MP HP2 part for current Galaxy S Ultra models.
Samsung designs and manufactures their own image sensors under the ISOCELL brand. Some Galaxy models use Samsung ISOCELL sensors. Others use Sony IMX. We match the replacement sensor brand to the original to keep color science and white balance consistent.
Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 6 have a camera built into the small outer cover display for taking selfies when the phone is folded closed. Unique foldable feature. Replacement requires opening the cover display assembly.
Galaxy Z Fold has 5 cameras total — main wide + ultrawide + telephoto on the rear, plus an outer cover selfie AND an inner foldable display selfie camera. The inner selfie camera is built into the flexible OLED panel and is the trickiest to access during a repair.
Foldable phones have camera configurations that need extra care during a repair.
Three cameras total. Two rear cameras on the back of the upper half. One selfie camera built into the small outer cover display. We access the rear cameras through the back of the upper half. The cover display selfie camera requires opening the outer display assembly. Same-day for most Z Flip jobs.
Five cameras total. Three rear cameras on the back of the bottom half. One cover display selfie on the outer face. One inner display selfie built into the flexible foldable OLED. Rear and cover display cameras are straightforward. Inner display selfie camera is the most delicate — it sits inside the foldable panel and requires opening both halves.
Watch for these Samsung-specific symptoms.
App icons appear but the preview area is solid black. Force-restart the Camera app first. If that does not fix it, the main rear camera module has failed.
Main camera takes regular photos but ultrawide won’t focus. Or telephoto opens with a green tint. Or 100x zoom looks blurry but 3x zoom looks sharp. One module failed independently. Single-module replacement.
The sapphire cover over one or more rear cameras cracked from a drop. The camera underneath may still work but photos look hazy. Cheapest of all camera repairs.
The 100x zoom feature stopped delivering sharp photos but regular photos look fine. The periscope telephoto internal prism is misaligned from a drop. Realignment or replacement needed.
