$59 to $79. Used on Galaxy S4, S5, S6, S7, Note 5, Note 6, and older Galaxy A and J series. Micro-USB ports wear faster because the pin design is more fragile.
$69 to $99. Used on Galaxy S8 through S22 standard models, Note 7 through 10, and Galaxy A14 through A55. Reversible connector with stronger pin design.
$89 to $119. Used on Galaxy Ultra and Note Ultra models. Adds support for 45W charging which requires extra power-delivery pins that cost more to source.
$99 to $139. Z Flip is at the lower end. Z Fold is higher because the port flex cable runs across the hinge mechanism.
This is the section that defines how we operate. Many local shops charge $100 to $150 for “charging port repair” on Samsung phones that are actually 5-minute lint cleanings. We do not.
Galaxy phones spend most of their lives in pockets. Pockets are full of fabric fibers, dust, and small debris. Every time the phone goes in or out, more material gets pushed into the port. After 6 to 12 months, the buildup blocks the cable from seating properly.
Shine a flashlight into the port and look at the back wall. If you see a solid plug of grey or brown material that looks like felt, it is lint. If you see bent metal pins, green or white oxidation, or a port that wobbles, it is likely real damage.

Your Galaxy used to reach 50 percent in 30 minutes with the original 25W or 45W charger. Now it takes over an hour. The USB-C data pins that handshake fast charging speed are worn or damaged.
The USB-C or Micro-USB connector used to lock in place with a satisfying click. Now it wiggles. The port internal retention tabs are worn. Cleaning will not fix this.

On Galaxy S models with wireless charging, sometimes the wireless coil still works while the USB-C port has failed completely. Galaxy A users do not have this backup since most A models lack wireless charging.
Samsung charging system has features and quirks that affect how we approach the repair.
Samsung shipped USB-C on the Note 7 in 2016. The iPhone did not get USB-C until iPhone 15 in 2023 — seven years later. This means Samsung repair parts have a more mature supply chain.
Adaptive Fast Charging (15W) was the older spec. Super Fast Charging (25W) replaced it on S10 and newer. Super Fast Charging 45W is the top tier on Ultra models. The faster the charging, the more sensitive the port data pins are to wear.
Galaxy S models can charge other devices wirelessly using PowerShare. This feature draws power through the same charging circuit that the USB-C port feeds. Heavy PowerShare use indirectly stresses the port over time.
Galaxy S phones have Qi wireless charging as backup if the USB-C port fails. Galaxy A budget phones do not. If the port dies on an A14, A15, A35, the phone becomes completely unchargeable until repaired.
Foldable phones have their charging ports in specific positions that affect the repair process.
